Potential Surge in Polling Booths in West Bengal: During the voter list revision in West Bengal, the Election Commission will appoint volunteers to assist Booth Level Officers (BLOs). These volunteers, primarily government employees, will aid surveys in polling stations with over 1,200 voters. With caps on the number of voters per booth, West Bengal could see around 14,000 new polling stations added. This would increase the total from approximately 80,000 to about 94,000, according to an official.
