Koppal: A horrifying incident in the jurisdiction of Kukanoor Police Station in Koppal district has taken a dramatic turn. In the case where a mother killed her two young children and then took her own life, the deceased Lakshmi's mother has filed a complaint. She alleges that Lakshmi's illicit relationship and the pressure from the man involved, Beerappa, were the root causes of this tragedy.

 

The Incident Unfolds: The recent incident in Kukanoor saw Lakshmi murdering her two children, Ramesh and Janavi, before ending her own life. Initially reported as a family dispute, the case has now gained a new dimension following the complaint from the victim's mother. Illicit Affair Comes to Light: According to the complaint, Lakshmi was in an illicit relationship with Beerappa from her own village. Though the family was aware of it, Lakshmi and Beerappa continued the affair. Family members had advised both to stay apart, but the relationship became a topic of gossip in the village. Beerappa allegedly kept pressuring Lakshmi to abandon her husband and children and come away with him.

Mental Torment Leads to Disaster: These pressures left Lakshmi mentally shattered and distressed. The mother claims in her complaint that this was the reason Lakshmi killed her young children, Ramesh and Janavi, and then committed suicide. Legal Action Initiated: Based on the mother's complaint, a case has been registered at Kukanoor Police Station against Beerappa under sections 103(1)108, 351(2)(3) of BNS 2023 -3(1), along with the SC/ST Act. Police have intensified the investigation, stating that more facts about this tragedy may emerge. The incident has cast a pall of grief over the family and the village, sparking discussions on pressures faced by women and social issues.
