Pakistan-Afghanistan Talks Fail: Border Security and Drone Dispute Hit a Snag!

Three days of peace talks in Istanbul ended fruitlessly, marked by significant disagreements between Pakistan and Afghanistan over border security, counter-terrorism efforts, and the use of US drones.

Reports indicate that the peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan that were being held in Istanbul have failed. Pakistan had put forward clear and solution-oriented demands to the Taliban to stop cross-border terrorism, arguing that the Taliban was posing a threat to Pakistan's security. During the discussions, there was an effort to formulate a joint monitoring and control system to prevent cross-border militant activities and overcome trade hurdles. During these talks, a clear distinction was observed between the Taliban administration's 'Kabul Group' and 'Kandahar Group'. The three-day talks concluded without any resolution.
