He clarified There is a land shortage in Bihar. There are difficulties in land acquisition for bringing in large industries. Therefore, we should focus on industries that require less land.

This statement has been sharply criticized by the Mahagathbandhan's Chief Ministerial candidate and RJD leader, Tejashwi Yadav. Sharing a clip of Shah's interview on X, Yadav said Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that industries and factories cannot be set up in Bihar due to the land problem.
I have never seen a Home Minister say such a thing. He has no intention of taking Bihar towards development. He is not interested in providing employment or industries. Yadav alleged that no matter how many election rallies the NDA conducts, the people of Bihar have decided to oust them from power. He claimed that such statements expose the NDA government's lack of focus on state development, job creation, and industrial promotion.

Issues like caste politics, development, and land reforms have become central to the contest between the NDA (BJP-JDU) and the Mahagathbandhan (RJD-Congress).
