JDS Stronghold Crumbles: Congress Secures Historic Win in Mandya DCC Bank, Shocks Coalition!

A forced shift in the political landscape of Mandya! As if the JD(S) has lost its once strong fortress, in the Mandya DCC Bank elections, Congress-backed candidates won 9 out of 12 director seats unopposed. This historic victory has dealt a blow to the JD(S)-BJP alliance, placing the key financial institution that supports farmers in Mandya now under Congress control.

A significant political tectonic shift has occurred in Mandya, the traditional fortress of the Janata Dal (Secular) party, as the Congress party secured a decisive victory in the District Co-operative Central (DCC) Bank elections. This outcome is being viewed as a major setback for the JDS-BJP coalition in the region.

In a stunning display of political dominance, Congress-backed candidates won 9 out of the 12 Director positions on the Mandya DCC Bank board unopposed. This historic win means the major institution, which provides vital financial support to farmers in the district, is now under the control of the Congress party.

Details of the Unopposed Victory:

The unopposed selection was made possible after JDS-backed candidates withdrew from the electoral race. The key figures who secured their seats uncontested include - MLA P.M. Narendraswamy, Minister Chaluvarayaswamy’s son, Sachin, P. Sandarsh, B. Girish, K.V. Dinesh

H. Ashoka, A. Vijendramurthy, K.C. Jogigowda Alvami Women's Anarkali Kurta and Pant Set with Dupatta

Political Implications:

While elections for the remaining three seats are scheduled for November 2, the current result has already handed administrative control of the Bank to the Congress party. This victory is particularly significant as Mandya is the parliamentary constituency represented by Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy (JDS).

The loss of control over the DCC Bank, a crucial institution for farmers and the cooperative sector, is a massive blow to the JDS, signaling the party's weakening grip on its core support base.

Karnataka Minister N. Chaluvarayaswamy lauded the victory, stating, "This is the first time in the history of Mandya DCC Bank that nine people have been elected unopposed. This was possible due to the responsible efforts of the MLAs and party leaders." Also Read: Political Uproar: BJP Slams KSTDC for Promoting Kerala’s Wayanad Over Karnataka Tourism!
