Hyderabad: Former Indian cricket team captain and Congress leader Mohammed Azharuddin has reportedly been sworn in as a Minister in the Telangana Government today.
In a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mohammed Azharuddin. He is reportedly the first Minister from the minority community to join Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's administration.
Strategic Cabinet Appointment -
Azharuddin’s appointment to the cabinet is considered strategic, especially given the upcoming by-election in the Jubilee Hills constituency, which reportedly has over one lakh Muslim voters.
The Jubilee Hills seat fell vacant after BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath passed away due to a heart attack in June of this year. Azharuddin had previously contested and lost from the Jubilee Hills constituency in the 2023 assembly elections.Stock Investing Mastermind Beginners Handbook to Winning the Stock Market | Learn Fundamental Analysis Investing Strategies | Especially for Beginners, Students, Indian Retail Investor | ZebraLearn Hardcover – 1 January 2022
