Shivalingayya, the owner of GMC Fertilizers, reportedly consumed poison in an attempt to commit suicide in front of the Davangere District SP office, and is currently battling for his life in the hospital.

Davanagere: A private firm owner, identified as Shivalingaiah, the proprietor of GMC Fertilizers, attempted suicide by consuming poison directly outside the Davangere Superintendent of Police (SP) office. He is currently battling for his life in the district hospital.

His family has directly blamed the police, alleging that their failure to conduct a proper investigation into a massive fraud case drove Shivalingaiah to this extreme step.

The Case Background: ₹55 Crore Fraud -

The incident stems from a two-year-old financial fraud case:

The Fraud: Shivalingaiah had purchased crops from farmers for his company. It is alleged that acquaintances later misappropriated about ₹55 crore from the bank related to these transactions.

Motive for Suicide Attempt: The family and reports indicate that Shivalingaiah was deeply distressed. He was reportedly facing intense pressure from farmers demanding payment, while simultaneously alleging that the police failed to conduct a proper, strict investigation or help him secure justice in the ₹55 crore fraud case.

Current Situation and Family's Outburst -

Medical Status: Following the suicide attempt, police rushed Shivalingaiah to the District Hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.

Family's Allegation: Shivalingaiah’s family members, gathered at the hospital, vehemently accused the police. "The police caused the delay in getting us justice. The police are responsible for this suicide attempt," they stated, expressing their strong outrage.
