New Delhi: ECI and BJP Strongly Deny Rahul Gandhi's Allegations of Massive Voter Fraud in Haryana Assembly Elections

Even if names appeared multiple times on the voter list, why did Congress booth agents at polling stations fail to object at the time? If suspicions arose about duplicate voting, there was ample opportunity to lodge complaints on the spot, the ECI noted.

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi's grave accusations of widespread voter fraud in the Haryana assembly elections have been outright rejected by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP has dismissed Rahul's claims as entirely baseless and fabricated, while the ECI has questioned the Congress party's earlier inaction on the matter.

"Why did the Congress not raise any objections regarding the Haryana voter list when the elections took place in 2024? Why is it doing so now?" the Commission has pointedly asked. Even if names appeared multiple times on the voter list, why did Congress booth agents at polling stations fail to object at the time? If suspicions arose about duplicate voting, there was ample opportunity to lodge complaints on the spot, the ECI noted. Rahul has specifically alleged that one individual cast as many as 22 votes in a single day. "How is that even possible?" the Commission has retorted. Furthermore, the ECI highlighted that Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera himself possessed two voter slips. "Does that mean he voted at two different locations?" the body countered.

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju has launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of: "Attempting to tarnish the name of India's democracy to cover up their own failures. He is colluding with anti-India forces to malign the nation's reputation. "Rijiju further criticized Rahul for prioritizing foreign trips over engaging with ordinary citizens during election campaigns, only to level false charges of electoral malpractices after his party's defeat. “Breaking News: Karnataka SSLC Exam 2026 Final Timetable Released — Exams Begin March 18”

"If any irregularities occurred in the voting process, they could approach the Election Commission or the courts. But Rahul Gandhi never takes that route," he added. In a personal jab, BJP spokesperson Radhika Khera remarked: "An 'Italian' woman has cast a vote in Hindustan. Do you know her name?"—a veiled reference to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's Italian origins.Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has also branded Rahul's allegations as outright lies.
