Bengaluru: Following the viral video leaks exposing the "royal treatment" (special privileges) provided to certain inmates at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, the state government has taken swift action, suspending two senior officials and transferring one other.

Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara announced the disciplinary measures and the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the corruption within the prison administration.

Disciplinary Action and Transfers -

The action was announced by the Home Minister after a meeting held today with top jail and police officials. The officials facing action are: Jail Superintendent Magageri and Deputy Superintendent Ashok Bajantri have been suspended. Chief Superintendent Suresh has been transferred from the prison.

High-Level Investigation Ordered -

To conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations of VIP treatment and corruption, a high-level committee has been constituted and instructed to submit a detailed report.

The committee includes senior police officials - R. Hithendra (ADGP, Law and Order Division), Sandeep Patil, Amarnath Reddy, Rishyanth.
