Supervisors Accused of Extorting Money from Sanitation Workers; Complaint Filed with GBA Chief Commissioner

A complaint has been filed with BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao against officials with a narrow mindset who demand money from hard-working citizens.

Bengaluru – A formal complaint has been filed with Greater Bengaluru Area (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwara Rao regarding the alleged large-scale extortion of money from sanitation workers by their supervisors. The complaint highlights the exploitation of workers by officials driven by a "petty mindset and greed for power and money."

The Labour Protection Trade Union filed the complaint, stating that sanitation workers under the Greater Bengaluru authority are suffering due to financial greed within the system.

Details of the Alleged Extortion -

The supervisors are accused of illegally collecting ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 monthly from each sanitation worker. The complaint specifically names supervisors Venkatesh and Moshis alias Baba as the perpetrators of the extortion.

The Trade Union noted that a complaint had been filed with the GBA earlier regarding the same issue, but no action was taken. The union is now demanding immediate intervention to expose the network involved in the corruption and take stringent measures against the culprits.
