'Siddaramaiah Should Continue as CM, For Now' - MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal's Controversial Remark

In the politics of the ruling state government, there is intense discussion about who will become the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has made a serious statement.

Amidst the intense ongoing political debate over the leadership change within the ruling Congress government in Karnataka, BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal made a significant and unexpected statement, expressing support for the continuation of the current Chief Minister.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, the outspoken BJP leader commented on the uncertainty surrounding the power-sharing arrangement in the Congress party.

Responding to reports that Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar might soon take over the top post, Yatnal stated:

"In the current situation, it is better if Siddaramaiah continues as the Chief Minister."

He noted that the atmosphere within the Congress party is volatile: "There is no clarity about his (CM's) silence and intentions. There is confusion among party members, and there is also fear that the party might split."

Yatnal highlighted the deepening rift by mentioning the recent visit of the CM to Minister Rajanna's residence, pointing out that Rajanna's faction is actively leveling allegations against Deputy CM D. K. Shivakumar, indicating internal conflicts. Oppo K13 5G (Prism Black, 8GB RAM 128GB Storage)

Yatnal also weighed in on the recent controversy surrounding the "royal treatment" and provision of illegal facilities to inmates at the Parappana Agrahara prison:

He asserted that no government has ever managed the operations of Parappana Agrahara prison effectively.

"Jails have become havens for criminals," he said. "If those who violate the law find comfort and facilities inside jails, there is a possibility of more law violations even after their release."

He stressed the need for a comprehensive investigation into the entire jail administration system. Also Read: Supervisors Accused of Extorting Money from Sanitation Workers; Complaint Filed with GBA Chief Commissioner
