New Delhi: Amidst dangerously high levels of air pollution in the national capital, where the Air Quality Index (AQI) remains in the 'Very Poor' category, citizens gathered at India Gate on Sunday to protest the toxic air and demand immediate government action.

The ongoing severe air pollution continues to be a major concern in Delhi. The air quality has remained critically poor, prompting activists and residents to organize the protest against the deteriorating environmental conditions.

AQI and Forecast

As of 7:00 AM today, the Air Quality Index (AQI) for Delhi was reported at 345, placing it firmly in the 'Very Poor' classification. Forecast: Forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) suggest that air quality is likely to remain in the "Very Poor" range in the coming days due to adverse weather conditions, vehicular emissions, and other pollutant sources.

Protest and Demands -

Organizers, parents, children, and environmental activists joined the protest, chanting slogans and condemning the government's perceived inaction.

The core message of the protesters was that "Clean Air is a fundamental right of every citizen." Protesters highlighted that citizens are already falling ill due to inhaling the toxic air and are at risk of serious long-term health issues.
