When questioned by reporters about why such bomb blasts tend to occur during election times, the Chief Minister pointed the finger at the central authority:
"The Central Government itself must answer this question." When asked if the incident was a security failure, CM Siddaramaiah replied, "I cannot say if this is a security failure or some other reason.
