The city briefly came to a standstill as people feared another security incident or an earthquake, only to find relief later.
Around 8:00 PM on Tuesday, a massive booming sound was heard across various parts of Jodhpur city, creating a chaotic atmosphere. The investigation quickly revealed the source of the commotion:
The loud noise was part of a routine Fighter Jet training operation conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF). The sound was the result of sonic booms caused by the aircraft flying at supersonic speed.
The rapid sound wave generated by the jet's speed caused the alarming auditory shockwaves on the ground. OPPO Reno14Pro 5G (Pearl White, 12GB RAM, 256GB Storage)
Following the clarification, the Air Force appealed to the public to remain calm, cooperative, and assured them there was no reason to panic. The report notes that the Delhi incident has heightened public sensitivity, which explains the initial widespread fear in Jodhpur, now replaced by a wave of relief.
