Due to the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Puducherry.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for the Puducherry region due to the formation of a Low-Pressure Area over the Bay of Bengal, warning of potential heavy rainfall.

The Low-Pressure Area (characterized by adverse weather conditions with wind pressure and rain) has been influencing the eastern coastal region since Saturday. As this system is expected to cause heavy rainfall over the next few days, the district administration has appealed to the public to remain highly vigilant.

Weather Warning and Administrative Directives -

Wind Speed: The district administration has officially confirmed that wind speeds are expected to reach up to 55 kilometers per hour (km/h) and has advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel. The IMD has warned of increased rainfall over the coming days under the influence of the Northeast Monsoon.
