In the high-profile sexual assault and harassment case involving a woman who worked as domestic help for former Hassan Lok Sabha MP Prajwal Revanna, a special court had imposed life imprisonment on him.
Today, the Karnataka High Court is set to hear Prajwal's criminal appeal seeking to quash this order and grant him bail.
Key arguments from Prajwal's legal team include:
Similar charges apply to both mother and son (H.D. Revanna and Prajwal); since the mother was granted bail, denying it to the son amounts to discrimination.Yash Gallery Women's Floral Printed Anarkali Maxi Dress
The investigation is complete, with all evidence already submitted to the court, so granting bail poses no risk of tampering.
The accused has already spent over 18 months in jail. There is no fear of him fleeing abroad, and he is ready to surrender his passport if required.
The special court had sentenced Prajwal Revanna and his mother Bhavani Revanna to life imprisonment and fines in September 2025. Also Read: NIA Raids Several Places Including Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi Car Bombing Case!
However, the High Court later granted bail to Bhavani. On this basis, there is anticipation that Prajwal may also secure bail.
The hearing will be conducted by the single bench of Justice M. Nagaprasanna. Lawyers for the state government and the victim's family are expected to argue against the bail, seeking its denial. Also Read: Job Creator: Doors Open for Career Opportunities – Internship Details Inside!
