The Karnataka government's Transport Department’s 50% discount scheme on pending traffic fines has received an overwhelming response across the state.

In just 10 days, the government has collected a whopping ₹8.01 crore. As per statistics till Sunday evening, a total of ₹8,01,12,350 has been recovered in fines. With this, a total of 2,82,792 traffic violation cases have been settled.

Thanks to the discount, people are quickly clearing long-pending dues. Thousands are paying fines via the “Traffic Fine Pay” app and the e-Challan website. Officials say the scheme is not only bringing huge revenue to the government but also increasing public awareness about road safety and traffic rule compliance.
