Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has directed the State Government to clarify its stance within three days regarding a petition seeking a comprehensive investigation into an alleged "systematic conspiracy" targeting Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and its Dharmadhikari, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade.
A single-judge bench led by Justice Suraj Govindaraj issued the direction on Tuesday while hearing a petition alleging that specific individuals and activists were orchestrating a smear campaign against the religious institution.
SP Directed to File Report
The Court has specifically instructed the Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police (SP) to submit a comprehensive report. The report must detail the actions taken regarding complaints filed against the accused individuals concerning their financial sources and activities.
The Allegations
The petitioners have sought a directive to investigate the movements and funding sources of the following individuals, alleging they are part of a calculated conspiracy: Mahesh Shetty Timarodi (Activist), Girish Mattannavar, T. Jayanth and Sameer M.D. (YouTuber). The plea argues that these individuals are involved in a malicious campaign against the Kshetra and the Dharmadhikari.
