Bailhongal, Belagavi District: A large crowd gathered in Bailhongal town on Saturday for a massive rally demanding that Bailhongal be granted district status to ensure the integrity of the undivided Belagavi district. The event saw the participation of numerous political leaders and Kannada organizations.

The rally, organized by the 'Akhanda Belagavi Jilla Horata Samiti' (Undivided Belagavi District Struggle Committee), focused on a dual demand: either the Belagavi district should remain undivided, or if the district is reorganized, Bailhongal Taluk must be declared a separate district.

The procession took place in Bailhongal, located in the Bailhongal Assembly constituency of Belagavi district.

Memorandum Submitted to Government

Under the presence and guidance of local revered figures (Parama Poojyaru), leaders from all political parties, various Kannada organizations, farmers' association leaders, village elders from surrounding areas, and senior citizens of the Bailhongal region participated in the demonstration.

The delegation formally submitted a memorandum to the government through the Sub-Divisional Officer (Assistant Commissioner) of Bailhongal, urgently appealing for Bailhongal to be declared a new district.
