Another shocking story of an Indian national caught in the crossfire of the Russia-Ukraine war has emerged. A young man from Gujarat, who went to Russia on a student visa, has released a video message detailing how the Russian military allegedly blackmailed him into joining the war.
Blackmail Through Falsified Cases:

He alleges that the police gave him an ultimatum: join the Russian army to have the charges dropped. After a brief training period of just 15 days, he was sent to the frontlines of the war against Ukraine.
Surrender to the Ukrainian Army:
As soon as he reached the battlefield, Sahil surrendered to the Ukrainian forces to save his life. They are trapping and blackmailing us here with false cases." He also shared the alarming information that a similar "offer" has been made to nearly 700 people currently in Russian prisons.
Plea for Government Intervention:
Sahil’s mother has approached a court in Delhi seeking the safe return of her son. The hearing for this petition is scheduled for February.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri recently reacted to the situation, stating, "Indians must exercise caution and avoid joining the Russian armed forces.
