Situation in Bengaluru:

The highest discrepancies are in the capital Bengaluru, where details of 85.14 lakh voters do not match. Out of Bengaluru's 1.03 crore voters, only 17.86 lakh have accurate matching details.

Age-Based Discrepancies:


In the first phase, 3.12 crore voters aged over 40 were verified, and among them, details of 1.25 crore individuals did not match.

Document Submission:


Those whose details match the 2002 list need not submit any documents. However, individuals with mismatched details must provide necessary documents to prove their eligibility.

House-to-House Survey:


According to Election Commission officials, this is only the initial stage of the process. In the coming days, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit every home to collect details of deceased, shifted, and duplicate voters. Only those who submit valid documents will have their names retained in the final voter list.

Technical Hurdles:


Due to the unavailability of the 2002 voter list details for the then-undivided Uttarahalli constituency in Bengaluru on the website, the comparison process has faced setbacks. Officials are working to rectify this issue. Overall, the process aims to make the state's voter list error-free.
