A new controversy has erupted in Maharashtra politics ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.

The candidate, who filed her papers from a ward falling under Colaba, stated that Narwekar's associates repeatedly contacted her, offering inducements like contracts while insisting she withdraw to "set her life." She expressed outrage, saying that a person in such a high constitutional post showing partisanship is detrimental to democracy.

This is not the first time similar allegations have surfaced against Narwekar. Previous complaints included interference in the nomination process, with opposition parties accusing him of influencing returning officers and police to reject forms or prevent filings in wards where his family members (brother Makarand Narwekar, sister-in-law Harshita Narwekar, and cousin Gauri Shivalkar) are BJP candidates. Violation of Rules:
Under election laws, coercing or threatening any candidate to withdraw nomination is a punishable offense.
