The Karnataka government's decision to restructure the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) by transforming it into the 'Greater Bengaluru Authority' has now reached the courts.

Public Interest Litigations (PILs) challenging the new Act, notified by the government on May 15, 2025, will be heard by the Karnataka High Court on March 11.A division bench comprising Chief Justice Vibhu Bakru and Justice C.M. The bench directed the petitioners to submit their written arguments, following which the government must file its objections.
