Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, has successfully concluded a high-stakes official visit to Abu Dhabi, marking a significant leap in the India-UAE Clean Energy Partnership. The visit, centered around the 16th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), has positioned India as the "world’s premier destination" for green investment, with a projected $300 billion opportunity by 2030.

The 'Make in India' Pitch: $300 Billion Opportunity

A major highlight of the visit was the Renewable Energy Investment Roundtable chaired by Minister Joshi. Addressing a global audience of UAE-based financial institutions and international developers, the Minister outlined a massive roadmap for India’s energy transition.

Key Focus Areas: Distributed solar, Green Hydrogen, energy storage (BESS), and waste-to-energy.

Manufacturing Hub: Under the 'Make in India' initiative, the Minister invited global players to establish manufacturing bases for electrolyzers and solar cells, leveraging India's stable policy environment.

Global Leadership at IRENA Assembly

Addressing the 16th IRENA Assembly, Minister Joshi reiterated India’s commitment to the principle of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (One Earth, One Family, One Future).

Milestone Achievement: India officially reported achieving its 50% non-fossil fuel capacity target in 2025—five years ahead of the original Paris Agreement schedule.

Cultural Ties and the Diaspora Connect

Beyond energy policy, the visit underscored strong people-to-people ties.

Spiritual Landmarks: The Minister visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi and the Hindu Temple in Dubai, emphasizing the shared values of inclusivity and harmony between the two nations.

The Road Ahead: A Sustainable Future

The visit has reinforced India-UAE cooperation in sustainable infrastructure and green finance. Analysts believe this trip will act as a catalyst for a new wave of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into India's renewable sector, bringing the nation closer to its ambitious 500 GW non-fossil capacity target by 2030.
