The 'Transfer Weapon' Strategy:

The DG has initiated large-scale transfers, particularly targeting staff who have been posted in the same prison especially prominent facilities like Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru for many years.

The primary objective is to dismantle the unholy nexus that has developed between certain jail staff and prisoners. Cracking Down on Irregularities:

Serious allegations have surfaced that some prison staff, lured by bribes, have been providing inmates with mobile phones, special food, and luxury facilities in violation of rules.
