In the Karnataka Budget 2026–27, several major initiatives have been announced to strengthen the cooperative sector. The government has set a target to provide ₹30,000 crore agricultural loans at zero interest to around 38 lakh farmers. Additionally, plans have been announced for digitization of APMC markets and the construction of commercial complexes in Mysuru and Hubballi.

The Karnataka Government’s 2026–27 budget, presented with the theme “Empowering Everyone, Unlocking Opportunities, Building a New Karnataka,” gives special priority to the cooperative sector. To strengthen the financial condition of farmers, the government aims to provide zero-interest agricultural loans worth ₹30,000 crore to nearly 38 lakh farmers during this financial year. To make cooperative services more accessible to the public, the government will introduce an online database system to manage various services and legal information available at the level of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies. This system will help citizens and cooperative societies access required documents and services quickly.

In addition, to boost commercial activities in the state, the government has planned to construct commercial complexes through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Bamboo Bazaar in Mysuru and Cotton Market in Hubballi. To modernize the functioning of Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs), the government has announced a plan to implement an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system at a cost of ₹10 crore. With this system, market activities will become fully digital, ensuring greater transparency and faster services for farmers and traders.
