Women empowerment is on the priority for the Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. There are several measures and schemes undertaken by his Government to uplift rural Assam women.

March 13th, Guwahati, Assam, CM Himanta Biswa Sharma said 33.5 lakh women will be benefited from the Mahila Udyamita Scheme, out of which 29 lakhs beneficiaries have already received the funds. The scheme offers financial assistance to women to make her self-sufficient.

Speaking to media CM said, his main focal constituencies are Sonai and Goalpara, as these villages are isolated and they need special attention, since these two villages are not located either on National Highway or on State Highways. Apart from financial assistance, these two areas need connectivity for the development and he said, his Government is working towards it.

CM is also eagerly waiting for the PM’s arrival on Friday as there are many projects to be unearthed. Pm together with Himanta Biswa Sarma will announce many women projects.

PM will also be meeting Tea estate women workers and address the crowd.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on his two-day visit to Assam starting today. The long awaited renaissance starts in Assam.

The inauguration of 150 MW Kopili Hydro Power project, which again focusses on women empowerment he said.

Talking about the upcoming election CM said, the double engine Government is working successfully, as people have faith in BJP and he is not expecting any stiff competition from the opposition and he is focusing on 2030 election unlike Congress who are focusing on 2031.
