In Karnataka, a major question has arisen over the future of the Yuva Nidhi scheme one of the Congress government's five flagship guarantee schemes.

BJP MLA Dheeraj Muniraju raised the issue in the Legislative Assembly, questioning why no fresh allocation was made for the scheme in the 2026-27 Budget.

He accused the government of abandoning it, but the administration has offered no clear response, remaining silent.

Launched in 2023, Yuva Nidhi provides monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 to unemployed graduates and ₹1,500 to diploma holders until they secure employment or pursue higher education. Lavie Luxe Women's Apex Clutch | Ladies purse |Gift For Women

The scheme aims to alleviate financial stress for jobless youth. The government claims over 3 lakh beneficiaries have received benefits so far.

However, the 2026-27 Budget allocated substantial funds to other guarantees — Gruha Lakshmi (₹28,608 crore), Shakti (₹5,300 crore), Gruha Jyoti (₹10,578 crore), and Anna Bhagya (₹6,200 crore) — but made no explicit mention of new funds for Yuva Nidhi. Reports indicate only ₹162 crore was earmarked from SCSP/TSP funds, with no clarity on fresh or overall continuation funding. The BJP has slammed this as a major failure, alleging the government is emptying the state treasury on guarantees while failing to create jobs and now halting even the allowance.

Opposition leaders claim "In the name of guarantees, the state's coffers are being drained.
