West Bengal Assembly Elections, CPI(M) announced its second list of 32 candidates for the election planned on April 23 and 29, in two phases, for the 294-member West Bengal Assembly.

Kolkata, 19, March, The left front has announced its second list of 32 candidates, with CPI’s Shantigiri from Nandigram. CPI (M)’s Dr. Pulin Behari from Nayagram in few of the major nominees.

While announcing the candidate list, CPI(M)’s state secretary Salim expressed the SIR’s electoral role as half victory and the Left front should reach out to every voter to seal the final victory.

Few of the CPI(M) leaders are Afrin Begam from Ballygunje, Monirul Islam from Metiabruz, Himangshu Giri from Khejuri and Samrendra Nath Naiya are few significant names out of 32 names announced.


The left earlier on Monday had announced the list of 194 nominees.Salim accused Mamata Banerjee of improper inclusion of names in electoral rolls.

The official data announced on 28th of February, 63.66 lakhs of names were deleted, which amounts to 8.3% of the electorate.

SIR has put a hold on 60,06 lakh voters terming them as “under adjudication”, means, eligibility of voting will be determined with legal scrutiny in a few weeks.

As regards the transfers of  bureaucrats and senior government officials CPI(M)’s Politburo expressed, If SIR thinks they can achieve Democracy by transferring people, they are wrong, finally its people who decide the elections and left party have full faith in West Bengal’s voters.
