New Delhi, 20th of March, the Supreme court pulled up the West Bengal Government for causing roadblocks, in the ongoing metro construction which will be useful for the public. The Court categorically specified, not to politicise the issue.
The bench consisted of Justice Suryakanth, Joymalya Bogchi, and Vipul.M.Pancholi, dismissed the State Government’s plea and ordered Calcutta High Court to monitor the construction of the project.
The Supreme Court opined that the High Court is munificent to state Government and the Chief Secretary, DGP and other Authorities should have taken action.
The Chief justice further added to Counsel, they are not following their constitutional duty, instead they are politicizing the issue, where there’s no issue at all!
The counsel argued that the State was under model code of conduct for the upcoming election, besides even the Board of Examination was underway.
Pak- Iran, US-Pak. Whose side is the terror-country?
Chief Justice asked a counter question what stopped the counsel from subscribing to the order which was given on 2023. Even Election Commission cannot stop upcoming infrastructure development. With heated argument with Counsel and the State Government, the Chief of Justice gave an order to complete the project without any roadblocks or hurdles latest by February 15th, 2026.
