The burden of the Toll plazas on the travellers, Toll Prices to go up from April 1st

Toll Rates on highways will go up from April 1st. The charges increased will be in accordance with WPI (Wholesale Price Index). National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced the hike up in the price for all the toll Plazas in State. The Government will hike up the price for the selected 10 toll Plazas on September 1st.

Vehicle users in Bangalore will be paying 3 to 5% more price for the Toll Plazas. The Government has confirmed the hike up is due to inflation in domestic economy. The new charge will be applicable from April 1st in all the toll plazas, notification and final fixed amount will be notified in coming days.

Some of the toll plazas where the significant revenue comes are Sheshagirihalli and kaniminike (Bangalore-Mysore), Bagepalli (Bangalore-Hydrabad), Sadahalli (Airport Road), Nangli (Bangalore-Tirupati), Hulikunte and Nalluru Devanahalli.

The National Highway Project Director, K B Jayakumar reconfirmed, the price revision is done in accordance with Provisions of the National Highway Fee, 2008.

The Bangalore-Mysore Express Highway has seen multiple hikes since its inception in 2023. The present hike up might amount to 2000 Rs of toll price from Bangalore to Kerala which is very expensive, in comparison with other states.
