ECI’s 4 pointers as the guideline to the upcoming West Bengal election

Election Commission of India had to face a wrath in all the 5 states. Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Kerla and Puducherry, despite initially the four states were not cooperating with ECI, later they came on track and they were in alignment with ECI for the Special intensive Revision, but West Bengal did not give up and Mamata Banerjee created hurdles to ECI in every way possible.

Mamata Banerjee is finally feeling the ECI heat. Being reluctant to cooperate with ECI initially is now facing the realities and she has gone on backfoot.

Lately ECI has directed 4 pointers to be adhered in West Bengal Election.

1.       Violence in any form is not acceptable and since Mamta’s main strength was her goons, this election will be difficult for Mamta. The DGP and Chief Secretary have gone, who used to field for Mamta’s violence. This election she cannot indulge in crime and violence as her men are gone and the people who are appointed now, they will work as per law.

2.       No Inducement or offer or gifts to voters.

3.       No booth capturing. Booth capturing is the oldest evil practice happening in West Bengal politics.  Both Communists, and TMC had made it a regular practice where the percentage of the minority community is more.

4.       The election process is going to be rigid and completely under the norms of law and at most transparency maintained.

In Short after a decade the actual election is happening in West Bengal without the involvement of Mamata’s dawns and goons.

If the election is managed as per constitutional norms, for the first time we’ll be witnessing the real leader of West Bengal whom they chose. All these elements are adding up to Mamata’s downfall.
