Royal Challengers Bengaluru is all set to be sold for $1.7Billion, around 16,700 crores in INR. The team will be acquired by the consortium of four major companies. Aditya Birla Group, Times of India Group, Bolt Ventures and the Blackstone’s BXPE. The transaction will be all-in-cash basis. The sale witnessed a massive jump RCB value.
Initially in 2008 when the team was launched, the liquor barren had bought it for $ 111.6 Million, which amounts to 446 crores. This was the second costliest team after Mumbai Indians which was sold for $111.9 Million.
Later that year Malya had told the media, the only purpose to buy the ream was to promote his whisky brand, and there was no essence of cricket in it.
In the year 2012 the British liquor company had taken majority of the control over the team. In 2016 Malya had to quit because of his internal issues. Diageo/USl a liquor giant from UK took over RCB. The franchise in the year 2023 launched the women’s RCB team, And RCB women won the league for the first time in the year 2024. Again, they won in the year 2026.
The official name of the team was changed from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the year 2024. RCB men won the league in the year 2025 for the first time in 18 years.

Later the same year USl sold the RCB team, multiple bidders participated in the sale. Th highest bid came from Aditya Birla, Time of India, Blackstone and Bolt ventures.
Now it was sold at $1.78 Billion, thus making it 16,700 crores!
