Asia Andrabi, the separatist from Kashmir and a close aid of Hafeez Saeed and an active member of banned Dukhttaran-E-Millat (DEM) has finally got what she deserves. The life time imprisonment in Tihar Jail. The judgement was pronounced on 24th, March, 2026. Sometimes our Judiciary system acts rationally!

Asiya Andrabi, a post graduate in Chemistry is a dreaded terrorist from Kashmir against whom NIA had lodged the complaint in 2018. Judge Chanderjit Singh awarded life imprisonment to Asiya along with her two more close aides Soli Fehmeeda and Naheeda Nasreen, each 30 years of imprisonment.

The trio were involved in various unlawful activities, the case was booked under UAPA, under the penal code 121A (conspiring to wage a war against the Government and section 18 for conspiring violent terrorist act.

The court observed that the convicts showed no regrets of their action to separate Kashmir from India and directly attacking the sovereignty of the nation. The court also rejected the pleas on the grounds of her age (64) and her educational background. The judge plainly refused to show any lenience for the dreaded terrorist.

The Charges

NIA arrested Andrabi in 2018 for using social media to incite violence in Kashmir. Hate speech to provoke youth and indulge in stone pelting and to separate Kashmir from India.  NIA had produced enough proofs of her social media posts where she used to glorify the terrorist Burhan Wani. Investigation also revealed her consistent contact with Hafeez Seed of LeT, and her meetings with ISI senior officials to discuss the Kashmir agenda.
