Bagalkote Bypoll: Flood of Money in the Electoral Arena; Rs 12.37 Lakh Seized at Check Post..!

Flying Squad Team (FST) officials conducted the inspection and seized the unaccounted money.

Bagalkote: In two separate incidents of cash smuggling in violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) ahead of the Bagalkote Assembly by-election, authorities have seized a total of Rs 12,37,000.The cash was detected during vehicle checks at the Dhannuru Check Post.

Flying Squad Team (FST) officials conducted the inspection and seized the unaccounted money. The money was being illegally transported in two separate Bolero vehicles traveling from Muddebihal in Vijayapura district towards Hosapete.

When the vehicles were stopped and searched at the check post, the cash was discovered and confiscated. Election officials and police have intensified surveillance to prevent illegal cash movement during the by-election period. An investigation is underway to trace the source and purpose of the seized money.Officials stated that further action will be taken against those involved in the Model Code of Conduct violation.
