The Karnataka High Court has suggested mediation to resolve the criminal case involving Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and senior IPS officer M. Chandrashekhar, in which Kumaraswamy and others are accused of issuing threats.
IPS officer M. Chandrashekhar, who is also the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in the Lokayukta and heads the Special Investigation Team (SIT), had filed a complaint in 2024 at Sanjaynagar Police Station.

Kumaraswamy and others have now approached the High Court seeking to quash the FIR.During the hearing, the High Court bench advised both parties to settle the matter amicably, stating, Set aside your ego and compromise.

The case arose in the backdrop of a major illegal mining investigation being conducted by the Lokayukta SIT, which is headed by Chandrashekhar. Kumaraswamy has strongly denied the allegations, calling them false and baseless.
