US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran. He has threatened that if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the entire country could be destroyed overnight.

Speaking at a White House press conference, Trump said, The entire country can be taken out in one single night and that night might even be Tuesday. This strong statement comes amid rising tensions caused by Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump described the ongoing US military operation to rescue the pilot of a downed American F-15 fighter jet in Iran as “historic.” He revealed that in the last 37 days, US forces have flown over 10,000 combat sorties against Iran an unprecedented number.

He confirmed that the F-15 shot down last week was the first manned US aircraft lost to enemy action in this operation. The pilot ejected and landed in hostile territory. While noting that talks are progressing “quite well,” Trump stated that his aggressive strategy aims to restore stability in the region and ensure smooth oil supplies.
