Tehran: US-Iran-Israel war has witnessed the major blow for Iran, in a major strike to Iran’s security apparatus, Major General Majid Khademi, the intelligence chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in a series of US-Israeli air strikes today morning. At dawn, early morning, a wave of air strikes targeted several locations in and around Tehran. There were explosions near Azadi Square and Sharif University of Technology.

Khademi was at a command facility when it was hit. The IRGC confirmed his martyrdom, calling it a criminal terrorist attack by American-Zionist forces. Beyond the precision targeting, IRIB (Iranian state media) has reported that more than 25 people were killed in the raids, which also caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, including university buildings and the city's gas network. Majid Khademi

His death came as one more blow to Iran in its list of loosing important people in administration and terror connection.

Khademi had assumed his role in June 2025, after Mohammad Kazemi was killed in an Israeli air strike on June 15, 2025, during "Twelve-Day War." 

Khademi was a veteran of counter-espionage, and he held a doctorate in National Security. He had previously headed the IRGC’s Intelligence Protection Organization as counter-intelligence and the Ministry of Défense’s Information Protection Organization.

In retaliation Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting the northern Israeli city of Haifa, where at least two people were killed.

 The killing of Khademi has further curtailed the hopes for a ceasefire as Donald Trump’s "Power Plant Day" deadline approaches, with Tehran vowing a "harsh response" to any further strikes on its territory.

The loss two Intelligence Chiefs in less than one year could be a significant damage for IRGC and Iran.
