Powering "Samruddha Odisha": The Shift to High-Tech Growth

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched 36 industrial projects on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. This etreme push, involving a total investment of ₹40,811 crore, is expected to create direct and indirect employment for over 59,000 people.

The launching day was marked by two major events: one at Bhuinpur (Khordha district) and another at Ramdaspur (Cuttack district).

The projects range between diverse industries, indicating a shift from a mineral-based economy to a high-tech manufacturing hub

Key Sectors include, green energy equipment and advanced energy storage plants, in manufacturing it consists of Metals, downstream industries, automobiles, and cement. The small-scale industries include textiles, Apparel manufacturing (a major focus for youth and women employment). The IT division will have new start ups in major data centres and IT enabled services.

Several Industrial giants are showing interest in investing in Odisha,

Adani Group: Investing over ₹33,000 crore across three projects, including a thermal power plant, a cement unit, and a data centre at Info Valley, Bhubaneswar.

Page Industries (Jockey): Inaugurated a textile facility in Cuttack (₹750 crore) and laid the foundation for another in Khordha. West Bengal Elections 2026: The phenomenal Cleanup by ECI, TMC on backfoot

Luminous Power Technologies: Setting up an energy storage plant in Angul and a solar cell unit in Gopalpur.

Other Notable Names: Ampin Solar, Calderys India, KPR Mill, Yokohama (ATC Tyres), and Danieli Corus.

The Chief Minister has got the investment from all across India, to mark the new beginning for the state.
