DMK’s Deputy General Secretary and MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi has launched a disdainful attack on AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, branding him as the "betrayal identity”, while she was addressing the rally in Salem and Jolarpet. Addressing rallies in Tirupattur and Salem, which is EPS's home turf. Kanimozhi declared that if betrayal had a physical form, it would be Palaniswami.
She has categorized his "betrayals" into three levels.
Betrayal of the State: She accused him of miserably failing to secure Tamil Nadu's share of funds from the BJP-led Centre during his tenure. She noted that while Tamil Nadu receives only ₹29 for every ₹100 of tax generated, states like Bihar receive ₹922, an inequality she claims EPS failed to challenge.
Betrayal of Mentors: Kanimozhi emphasized his fallout with V.K. Sasikala, stating he betrayed the very person who made him Chief Minister.

She said, EPS’s legal attack on her and threatening to send her to jail, will give no yield to AIADMK, and she is not scared of his threats.
She further added, such behaviour mirrors the BJP’s tactic of using central agencies (CBI, ED, IT) against political rivals, emphasizing the DMK's campaign narrative that AIADMK has become the "Amit Shah DMK." Finally, she accused EPS of realigning with BJP for 2026 election, which is betraying Tamil Nadu's people.
