Iran offered Uranium to India, now it offers Russia, US certainly will object

The Pakistan attempts to abort the Iran-US-Israel war and the so-called Islamabad Accord and peace talk has crashed miserably, forcing Iran to explore more countries with better credibility in the global stage for mediation. There were speculations on Oman and Muscat mediating between the three war-driven countries. On Monday, April 27, 2026, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had a full day meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg to explore the avenues and the possibilities to US’s de-escalation. The way out and the solution to Israel and US strikes and blockades in Strait of Hormuz.

Araghchi’s visit brings clarity on Kremlin’s stance on the Middle East crisis. There are significant takeaways from the diplomatic exchange.

Araghchi hailed Russia’s "firm and principled" condemnation of the U.S.-Israeli strikes. Both Russia and Iran have confirmed they are in the final stages of signing a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement. This deal is expected to include enhanced military cooperation and trade mechanisms designed to bypass Western sanctions. Iran has also offered Uranium to Russia. Finally, Iran has taken the right measure to drop Islamabad and has chosen Russia, which has better leverage over US and Israel. Russia’s entry may also complicate the US position as Russia will be the nuclear-armed mediator and certainly will negotiate with grace unlike the destitute Pakistan.
