The Narcotics Control Bureau has accomplished a massive crackdown with "Operation White Strike," dismantling a transnational drug syndicate. This operation was highlighted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 1, 2026, leading to in the seizure of 349 kg of high-grade cocaine valued at approximately ₹1,745 crore. This is one of the biggest hunts in the recent days.
Operation White Strike was conducted for over six months of intelligence gathering and surveillance, focusing on the Kalamboli-Bhiwandi corridor in the Navi Mumbai-Thane region. In the initial seizure, NCB officers first intercepted a vehicle near the KWC Warehousing Complex in Kalamboli. They recovered 136 packets (1 kg each) of cocaine concealed inside cartons of cricket pads and gloves.
Following the interrogation of the detained suspect, a second raid was conducted at a warehouse in Rehnal Gaon, Bhiwandi. There, officials found 213 additional packets hidden within the hollow cavities of imported machinery. The machinery was kept in major warehousing hubs like Bhiwandi for later processing, and the narcotics were then moved in smaller consignments, such as those hidden in sports equipment, for the distribution and supply for the domestic crowd. Amit Shah praised the NCB’s approach, where investigators traced a smaller lead back to a massive international network. He recapped the government's resolve to "ruthlessly crush" narcotics cartels.
The bust can also be related to the kingpin, Salim Doha, who was arrested last week.
