New Delhi: India is hosting much awaited BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi on May 14-15, 2026. This gathering is a predecessor to the main BRICS Summit later this year and marks a significant moment for India’s rotational presidency of the now 11-member bloc. The most salient feature of this gathering is, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi have confirmed their occurrence. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is likely to skip the event. His absence is ascribed to the clashing dates of the summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
