FBI begs for tips on their own ex-agent who ran to Iran and burned her colleagues. Deep State’s favourite game: Espionage Edition

From elite U.S. counterintelligence to Iran's cyber-warfare unit, the FBI places a $200K bounty on defector Monica Witt

Tehran: Espionage is common in FBI as the organisation is completely controlled by deep state of US.

Recently, FBI has issued a $200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Monica Elfriede Witt, a former U.S. Air Force intelligence specialist and counterintelligence agent. Witt, who deserted to Iran over a decade ago, is accused of spying and exposing highly classified American military operations to the Iranian government. Pepe Jeans Women's Pullover

Monica Witt served as an Intelligence Specialist in the U.S. Air Force from 1997 to 2008 and later worked as a defence contractor. She held high-level security clearances and was deeply entrenched in sensitive counterintelligence operations. The FBI asserts that Witt was successfully recruited by Iranian intelligence during her attendance at commercial conferences in Iran.

In August 2013, she officially absconded to Iran, where she was provided with housing and computer equipment by the Iranian government. Federal prosecutors claim that Witt’s defection directly benefited the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Spies becoming Double agents is not new in American intelligence, unlike MOSSAD.  Witt ostensibly disclosed the true identities of undercover U.S. counterintelligence agents, directly compromising their safety and halting active operations.

Using her insider knowledge, she helped Iranian cyber-actors target her former U.S. military colleagues through spear-phishing (a highly targeted cyberattack, usually via email, where attackers impersonate a trusted source to steal sensitive information) and social engineering campaigns, attempting to install malware on their personal and professional networks. Witt has a track record of espionage. She was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2019 on charges of delivering national defence information to a foreign government and conspiracy.

Because she remains at large, and on run, apparently living under state protection within Iran, the FBI’s newly announced bounty is a renewed effort to leverage international pressure or extract actionable intelligence on her movements outside of Iran. Ironically, maximum number of espionage and double agents are recorded in US intelligence and Pakistan’s ISI.
