Securing the Frontlines: Amit Shah spearheads a tech-driven, zero-tolerance revamp of India's border defense

Vigilance at the Border: A unified 4-point security grid takes charge to protect India from evolving external threats

Home Minister Amit Shah is on his border tour; he is physically checking all the borders of India. Not only WB, Assam, Rajasthan, Punjab, J and K. He is intending to cross check the security of all our borders. He indicated the shift in India's border management strategy during his address to the Border Security Force personnel at the Sanchu Border Outpost in Rajasthan's Bikaner district. He emphasized a transition toward technology-driven defence system. Amazon Brand - Myx Women's Pure Cotton A-Line 3 piece Schiffli Suit Set (Available in Plus Sizes)

The central government is aggressively working to install anti-drone systems along the international borders within the next six months. This initiative is important because of the threat of cross-border smuggling, particularly the use of drones by anti-national elements to drop narcotics, weapons, and ammunition into Indian territory.

Shah emphasized that technological interception is only half the job done. Because drones ultimately land on Indian soil, stopping the threat requires neutralizing the internal networks receiving these illegal consignments.

He proposed 4-point security grid, the Border Security Force, the Armed Forces, Local State Police, civil Administration and alert Border Citizens.

To formalise this coordination, the Home Ministry is holding a series of meetings with state governments and local administrations in border-heavy regions, including Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, Tripura, and West Bengal. On Centre's decision to extend the BSF's operational jurisdiction from 15 kms to 50 kms inside international borders, Shah noted that "securing the borders alone is not sufficient."
