A night of healing turned into a morning of ashes, leaving heartbroken families searching through the chaos

At least 4 fatalities have been formally confirmed so far by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and local authorities. Unofficial estimates from fire officials initially feared higher counts due to the density of the toxic smoke. Over 20 patients were injured or affected by smoke inhalation. The hospital's ICU in-charge is among those who sustained grave burn injuries and is currently hospitalized.

Primary findings specify that the fire was sparked by a short circuit originating near the ICU’s oxygen unit and monitoring system.

The Rescue Operation

The fire control room received the alert around 3:00 AM to 4:00 AM, today early morning. The ICU was located on the fifth floor of the building, making evacuation highly challenging.

Firefighters rushed to the scene with roughly a dozen fire tenders. Because the ICU had rapidly filled with thick, black toxic smoke, rescue teams had to smash open windows and doors to ventilate the floor and evacuate choking patients.

Around 15 to 20 critically ill patients were rescued from the immediate danger zone and quickly shifted to nearby government and private hospitals for continued treatment. Howling at the moon won't change the direction of the wind, Rahowl.....

Family members of the victims and fire department officials have supposed that most of the hospital staff and doctors fled the scene when the fire broke out, leaving critically ill, non-ambulatory patients stranded in their beds. Some families reported chaos in the aftermath, noting they were initially unable to locate their relatives who had been moved during the emergency panic.
