Bengaluru: In connection with the Gauri-Ganesh festival, idol immersion was permitted at Yadiyur Lake from August 28, 2025, to September 7, 2025. This includes 2,69,450 clay idols, 8,350 paper idols, and 4,650 Plaster of Paris (POP) idols. Emphasis was placed on the immersion of eco-friendly idols, and the production and sale of POP idols were banned. In addition to Yadiyur Lake, arrangements for idol immersion were made at Ulsoor Lake, Sankey Tank, Hebbal Lake, and 41 other lakes across Bengaluru. Strict measures were taken to prevent lake pollution from chemical paints and POP idols.
