Mandya: A stone-pelting incident occurred during a Ganeshotsava procession in Maddur town, Mandya district, Karnataka, with locals alleging that an illegally constructed mosque is the cause of the unrest. This incident has sparked widespread outrage across Karnataka, with political groups sharply criticizing the state government.On the night of September 7, the Ganesh immersion procession, which began from Siddhartha Nagar, was passing through Ram Rahim Nagar when, around 8 PM, stones were allegedly thrown near a mosque. According to police reports, stones were hurled at participants dancing in the procession, prompting an angry response from procession members who retaliated by throwing stones.
