Mangaluru: The Belthangadi court has rejected the bail application of Mask Man Chinnayya, who is currently in jail in connection with the Dharmasthala case. After his arrest, lawyers from the District Legal Authority had filed a bail application on his behalf.In response, SIT’s lawyer, Divyaraj Hegde from Puttur, objected to granting bail. As a result of this verdict, the accused, Chinnayya, must remain in jail. Despite the SIT team excavating and inspecting the locations indicated by Chinnayya, no evidence was found. For about two months, Chinnayya provided false statements, leading to the excavation of 17 pits around Dharmasthala.Eventually, he confessed that all his claims were false. Soujanya’s mother, Kusumavathi, had filed a complaint demanding an investigation into Chinnayya regarding Soujanya’s disappearance and suspicious death.It is alleged that before the SIT was formed, complainant Chinnayya and his team met a Kerala MP for consultations.
