Vivekanand Kadam, Chief of the Palghar District Disaster Management Cell, reported that five workers were present inside the factory when the blast occurred. The explosion was triggered during the mixing of metal and acid, a highly volatile process. The combination of metal and acid caused an intense reaction, leading to the explosion, Kadam explained, highlighting the dangerous nature of the procedure. Emergency response teams, comprising local police, fire services, and medical personnel, swiftly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and provide immediate assistance.

The identity of the deceased worker remains undisclosed pending family notification. The four injured workers were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving treatment for severe burns and shrapnel wounds, with two in critical condition. The Palghar Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain whether safety protocols were breached.
